About Hikma Botanicals

Hikma means wisdom, and it's the heart of everything we make.

Hikma Botanicals is a family-run small business in Fairfax, Virginia. Everything we make comes from one hope: to bring a little wisdom into your daily life. A bar of soap, a jar of balm, or a cup of tea can be a small way to slow down, care for yourself, and reconnect with nature.

For more than a decade, I have been in search of wisdom, exploring different traditions, their ways of seeing life, and healing. I studied the prophetic (Islamic) tradition of healing with many teachers and from many sources, have been doing my master's degree in Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbology), was learning about North American plants and their use by Native people and have been exploring different healing modalities from around the world.

After all these years of searching and learning, I discovered that all these traditions share one thing in common. They all turn to nature for healing, and they do it in the way of wisdom. I call it the Way of Hikma. (There is a similar idea in the Chinese healing tradition called the Dao, which means "the Way.")

That's why I built this small space: to bring together everything I have found beautiful along the way.

My hope is to help people reconnect with nature and turn to their inner nature to rediscover real beauty and a sense of deep gratitude.
