Unscented Tallow Cream

Our Unscented Tallow Cream is made with just two ingredients: tallow and olive oil. That's all. No water, no scent, no preservatives, nothing added. It's made the old way, slowly and by hand, in small batches, the way people have made it for generations. It's rich and velvety in the jar and melts as soon as it touches warm skin, leaving it soft and nourished. A little goes a long way.

Fewer ingredients means fewer things to react to, which makes this  a good choice for sensitive skin. It has a mild, natural scent of its own that settles quickly and doesn't linger.

What's Inside

Just two ingredients, and both are there for a reason.

Tallow is the heart of this cream. It's naturally close in makeup to the oils our own skin produces, which is why it absorbs so easily and feels so comfortable. It also naturally contains vitamins A, D, E and K, and it helps skin hold on to moisture.

Our olive oil is Italian novello, pressed from the first olives of the harvest and left unfiltered and green. It's the freshest olive oil of the year and the richest in polyphenols and vitamin E, which help soften skin and keep the cream fresh longer.

Not All Tallow Creams Are the Same

A tallow cream is only as good as what goes into it and how it's made, and that matters even more when there are only two ingredients. We get our suet from a local butcher we know and trust, where animals are hand slaughtered the Zabiha Halal way, with care and respect. We render it ourselves, at home, slowly and in small amounts. It is never bleached, deodorized or chemically processed. Our olive oil comes from fresh Italian olives. Every jar is whipped and filled by hand in our woman-owned, family-run kitchen.

Size and Packaging

Each jar holds 1.5 oz (42 g) of cream in a 2 oz amber glass jar with a metal lid. Amber glass protects the cream from light, and it can be washed and reused. We avoid plastic wherever we can.

How to Use

Warm a small amount between clean, dry fingertips and massage gently into clean skin, morning or evening. For dry hands, use it as often as you like, especially after washing. For heels, apply after every shower once your feet are patted dry, and for extra softness, put on cotton socks afterward to let it soak in overnight.

Storage and Shelf Life

Store the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The cream is best used within 6 months of opening and can last up to a year as long as no water gets into it. Always use dry hands or a small clean spatula, since moisture can let mold grow. Tallow softens in warm weather and firms up again when it cools, which is completely normal. Because every batch is made by hand, you may see small differences in color and texture from jar to jar.

Good to Know

For external use only. Avoid the eye area. If you have sensitive skin, try a small amount on your inner arm first.
